La Cañada High School underwent a phased construction project aimed at improving and expanding its facilities. The project included the construction of a new outdoor pool with a support building, 5-row bleacher seating with a shade structure, and a scoreboard. Additionally, outdoor basketball courts were built at the location of the existing pool, accompanied by accessibility upgrades to adjacent PE locker rooms. Hardscape and landscape improvements were carried out at the southern end of the campus circulation spine, including the widening and re-striping of the south parking lot. The project also involved the relocation of the JV baseball field and the installation of new sports field fencing and lighting.

Sustainability Focus
The new International Studies Learning Center middle school, designed by GGA Architects, incorporates various sustainability measures in accordance with the requirements of the Coalition for High Performance Schools (CHPS). These measures are aimed at enhancing the school’s performance and reducing its environmental impact. Interactive exhibits within the school demonstrate to students how these systems benefit the immediate and wider community environment. The focus areas include landscape greening, energy efficiency, and water conservation. By integrating sustainability into the design, the school fosters a sense of pride and ownership in the students, instilling an understanding of the importance of preserving their school for the long term.
