Project Description

The 405 Express Lane project aims to enhance transportation infrastructure along a 16-mile corridor of Interstate 405 (I-405) between State Route 73 (SR 73) and Interstate 605 (I-605) in Anaheim, CA. The project involves the addition of one new General Purpose lane and one new toll lane in each direction, resulting in the creation of two Express Lanes in the I-405 median, along with the existing high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane. The Express Lanes will be tolled and provide improved mobility options for commuters. Additionally, the project includes the replacement of 18 bridges, construction of new and widened bridges, auxiliary lane improvements, utility relocations, construction of sound walls, and enhancements to the tolling and Transportation System Management and Transportation Demand Management systems.
